Samsung is pushing the boundaries of smartphone technology, redefining innovation and breaking down the barriers of what we once thought was impossible

The Koreans combine compact convenience with intense durability, launching a range of smartphones that meet the potential of consumers to cope with our ever-evolving lifestyles.

The premium device market is strong, with Samsung’s super premium devices growing 40 percent year-on-year, driven by the S series and Z series.

Samsung is taking the foldable market mainstream with the latest version of their now fourth-generation Galaxy Z series smartphones, the Z Flip4 and Z Fold4 – both of which embody the engineering brilliance that Samsung is known for.

The company has seen a doubling of attention to foldable devices among people aged 18 to 45, with Gen Z showing a whopping 273% increase since last year.

With the smallest hinge ever and slim straight lines, the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Z Flip4 are designed to allow for ultra-compact folding, giving users powerful technology that fits in the palm of their hand and slips right into their back pocket.

But with bold innovation comes the responsibility to ensure that new creations are just as reliable as established models, and Samsung’s testing procedures certainly fit the bill.

As a technology-obsessed society, smartphones now play multiple key roles in our daily lives and are subject to constant wear and tear. Samsung recognizes this and plays its part in ensuring that their technologies can withstand such stress.

Providing a behind-the-scenes look at their quality assurance protocols, Samsung released a video detailing the rigorous testing they put their smartphones through before allowing them to reach consumers’ hands.

Footage from their revolutionary robotic machines shows the assembly and then testing of every single element of the latest Galaxy Z Flip4 and Z Fold4.

Camera functionality is also evaluated to ensure that resolution, autofocus and zoom functions meet Samsung’s high standards. Sensor testing is important here to ensure that the Nightography mode works smoothly, allowing users to capture what the naked eye can hardly see in the dark.

Perhaps the most impressive feature of both the Z Flip4 and Z Fold4 smartphones is their ability to fold into an ultra-slim package while still possessing the same powerful functionalities that a full desktop PC provides. This was made possible through Samsung’s innovative Ultra Thin Glass development.

Testing the folding feature means repeatedly folding and unfolding the phone to confirm the flexibility of the ultra-thin glass and test the strength of the Armor’s aluminum frame.

The ultra-thin glass is only one-third the thickness of a human hair, but has exceptional strength that allows it to fold as easily as a sheet of paper. It’s where durability meets compact convenience and marks the beginning of an exciting new era for smartphones.

Samsung has built durability into its design process, but it goes a step further to make sure the Z Fold4 and Z Flip4 have the strength to withstand shocks and spills, putting them through many of life’s tests before allowing them to reach the hands of their customers.
