According to the analyst, the American company has prepared a plan for the transition of devices from a proprietary Lightning connector to a universal USB-C port. Among the first to get the new interface are AirPods — Ko stressed that all headphones released in 2023 will have a case with a USB-C connector.
For the second half of 2022, Apple is already planning the release of the second generation AirPods Pro. However, the new version of the popular headphones with active noise cancellation will remain with the Lightning port. Apple has been using its own Lightning connector since 2012.
