Gigabyte is launching a new external graphics card called the Aorus RTX 3080 Ti Gaming Box, based on the recently released NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti. Using the new „gadget“ will make it possible to turn even a computer with a weak hardware base into a gaming one.
The Gigabyte Aorus RTX 3080 Ti gaming box has impressive dimensions. The external video card is enclosed in a rectangular metal box with dimensions of 300x140x173 mm, and its weight is 4 kg, which is at least twice the weight of modern laptops.
The full-fledged Gigabyte WaterForce GeForce RTX 3080 Ti video card with a frequency of 1665 MHz and 12 GB of GDDR6X memory with a bandwidth of 912 GB/s is installed in the metal case of the Gigabyte Aorus RTX 3080 Ti gaming box.
A 550 W power supply is also installed inside the metal case, as well as a liquid cooling system with a 240 mm radiator and two 120 mm fans. According to the developers, the cooling system works not only for the video card, but also for the video memory and other parts of the device.
The connection to computers, as well as the supply of electricity to a laptop (up to 100 W) is carried out through the Thunderbolt 3 connector.
