Samsung’s Galaxy S22 Ultra offered a respectable 5,000mAh battery earlier this year, in line with its predecessors. However, the Galaxy S22 Plus got a 4,500mAh battery, which was slightly lower than last year’s Plus phone.
Now, Dutch site Galaxy Club has apparently revealed battery capacity details for the Galaxy S23 Plus and S23 Ultra. And the learning looks like good news for the Plus variant in particular.
The site claims that you should expect a nominal battery capacity of 4,565 mAh for the Galaxy S23 Plus, but a typical capacity of 4,700 mAh. In comparison, the S22 Plus had a nominal capacity of 4370 mAh and a typical capacity of 4500 mAh.
The Galaxy S23 Ultra is also rumored to have a nominal battery capacity of 4,855 mAh and a typical capacity of 5,000 mAh (in line with the S22 Ultra). There may be no changes here, but a 5,000mAh battery is still big for a flagship phone. That being said, we thought the S22 Ultra delivered average battery life, so hopefully Samsung can squeeze more battery life out of the S23 Ultra.
In any case, this is particularly good news for the Galaxy S23 Plus. Users were already happy with the durability of the S22 Plus, so this small increase in capacity is a nice little bonus.
