Well, another year has passed and the iPhone 13 is no longer the most up-to-date in Apple’s lineup. A few minutes ago, the American company presented four new devices from the iPhone 14 series. In addition to the standard smartphone, the company from Cupertino also showed the iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, as well as the flagship iPhone 14 Pro Plus. During the event, we also saw the new Apple Watch 8, as well as the AirPods wireless headphones.
The biggest change in this year’s iPhone is the display. As you can probably see, the so-called „night“ that debuted on the iPhone X a few years ago is gone. It is replaced by two small holes in which the front camera and the sensors for Face ID, light and others are collected. Surprisingly, the change only comes to the more expensive devices of the Pro series, while the standard iPhone 14 and 14 Plus arrive with the previous design familiar to us from the iPhone 13.
The iPhone 14 relies on a 6.1-inch display with TrueTone OLED technology, while the larger 14 Plus boasts a 6.7-inch display. Apple claims that the devices have a new ceramic coating that is more resistant to scratches and impacts. Apple is also boasting about the new iPhone 14 Plus, which offers the best battery ever put into an iPhone. Both models rely on an A15 chip with 6 cores.
The cameras on the standard model have also been improved with a new 12MP sensor for the main camera and 49% better low-light performance. The front camera is also new, which for the first time has automatic focus. It has a resolution of 12MP and f1.9. For the first time in iPhone history in the US, the devices will be sold without a slot for a physical SIM card, but only with an eSIM.
